A Stage 1 tune involves adjusting your car's engine control unit (ECU) to optimize engine performance. By reprogramming the ECU, we can unlock additional horsepower and improve the overall driving experience, all without needing to upgrade any hardware on your vehicle.
A Stage 2 tune is a more advanced level of engine tuning, where we not only adjust the engine control unit (ECU) but also recommend certain hardware upgrades. These upgrades typically include parts like a high-flow air intake, upgraded exhaust system, intercoolers, or downpipes (for turbocharged cars). These changes allow your engine to breathe more efficiently, supporting higher power gains and making the most of the tune.
A Stage 3 tune is a comprehensive performance upgrade that involves major modifications to both your car’s hardware and software. This tune is typically aimed at cars that have already undergone Stage 1 or Stage 2 tuning and are now ready for even more power and performance.
Unlike Stage 1 and Stage 2, which focus on optimizing the stock engine and adding moderate upgrades, a Stage 3 tune involves substantial hardware changes like larger turbos or superchargers, upgraded internal engine components, high-performance fuel systems, and more. These modifications allow the car to handle significantly higher boost pressures and engine outputs, resulting in substantial increases in horsepower and torque.
Pops and bangs are the sharp, explosive sounds that occur when unburned fuel ignites in the exhaust system, creating mini explosions. This happens as a result of adjustments made to the engine's fuel mixture and ignition timing. In simpler terms, when you let off the throttle, some fuel in the engine doesn’t fully combust and makes its way to the exhaust, where it ignites, causing loud pops or crackles.
